Cremation habits in Utah
Cremation is chosen for only about 46.1%[5] of people who die in Utah, so a local jeweler may never have been asked to fill a pendant. Don't read hesitation as refusal. Explain that the chamber takes a pinch, that you'll bring it in a sealed bag and that the job needs a steady hand and a drop of adhesive. Many agree once they know what's involved.

Why does the Provo page quote a human cremation rate?
Because it is the best local signal we have. NFDA 2024 Cremation & Burial Report state projections (via Occasional Sage) (2024) reports about 46.1%[5] of Utah residents are cremated. There is no official pet equivalent, and inventing one would be worse than quoting a real, clearly labelled number.
Is Provo big enough to have several pet aftercare providers?

Can I wear ash jewelry through airport security?

Can I wear cremation jewelry in the shower?

Take the piece off, put it in the same small dish every time and put it back on once you're dry, so it never gets left on a basin edge.
