Jewelers, glass artists and online makers near Naples
Naples has a famously intimate relationship with its dead, visible in the small shrines and votive lamps on street corners, and many families keep memorials close. For a pet that might mean a small urn beside a photo, a candle, a pendant holding a trace of ashes, or a framed paw print. Whatever you choose, ask for prints or fur clippings at the first contact, before your pet leaves home.
Neapolitan homes are often full of religious images and family photos, and a pet's memorial can join them naturally: a small urn on a shelf, a memorial stone on a balcony among the potted lemons and geraniums, or a keepsake with a lock of fur. Candles lit on anniversaries, or on All Souls' Day in November, fit the local habit of keeping loved ones present in daily life.
In a metro like Naples, your pet's crematory is often the easiest first stop. Many sell a small range of pendants and can set a portion of ashes aside in a separate pouch when they return the rest, so you aren't opening a sealed urn at home later. If they don't, ask whether they'll put a teaspoon in its own labeled bag. It costs little or nothing and makes every jewelry option easier afterwards.
Naples's population is around 967,000.
The closest communities we cover are Rome (117 miles, a larger centre) and Bari (137 miles). Providers serving those towns often travel to Naples too, so it can be worth asking them for a quote.

a pinch (at most about a teaspoon)[4]

How Italy feels about cremation, and what that means for jewelry
With about 38.16%[1] of people in Italy choosing cremation, local jewelers and crematories may carry fewer memorial pieces than in high-cremation areas. Expect to order more by mail and to ask a couple of shops before you find someone to fill a pendant. None of that makes the result any less good; it just means a bit more planning.
For the Italy figure we rely on Cremation Society of Great Britain, International Cremation Statistics 2023 (2023). Read it as a picture of local custom around death and remembrance in Naples rather than as pet data.
Wearing ash jewelry through Naples's seasons
If you're mailing ashes from Naples to a maker, weather mostly affects how long the parcel takes. Send early in the week, use tracking and a signature, and ask the maker to confirm arrival. The ashes themselves aren't harmed by heat or cold; only resin pieces coming back need to avoid long hot waits.

What pet cremation jewelry costs for Naples families
Memorial diamonds are one area where Europe has its own labs. One Swiss lab prices pet stones at $1,400–$40,500[5] and asks for at least 150 g of ashes or 5 g of fur[6]. Everyday pieces cost far less: a UK glass charm bead or silver-and-glass ring runs £120–£395[7] (one UK maker's price). Treat the table as a guide for Naples, not a quote.

Before you divide the ashes: Campania basics
Dividing a pet's ashes is entirely legal and very common. Most pieces take less than a teaspoon, so the bigger decision is what happens to the rest. Here's what Campania allows for burial and scattering, and a reminder that if you plan to send ashes to a maker, the postal service's own rules apply on top of anything local.
A calm plan for getting the piece made
- Call the crematory or your vet to find out if they stock jewelry, will set a portion of ashes aside for it, or can point you to a nearby jeweler who does fills.
- Compare two or three options near Naples: a jeweler in town, the crematory's own counter, and an online studio that specializes in ash pieces.
- Check allergies and sizing with each person who'll receive one.
- Decide on engraving. The name, the dates, a paw print, or plain metal; either way, sign off the text and proof by email or on paper.
- Arrange the ashes. You can deliver them by hand, do the filling at home, or post them using a tracked, signed-for service that the maker has okayed.
- Wear it and check it. Look at the seal and clasp every few weeks, and take it off to swim or garden.
- Store it safely at night in a soft pouch, somewhere it won't meet perfume, heat or a hard knock.
More ways to keep your pet in daily life
If you are thinking of scattering ashes, many Neapolitans think of the bay, with Vesuvius behind. Choose a calm day and a place away from busy beaches, ferry routes and harbours. A bio urn planted in a family garden or on a relative's land in the Campanian countryside is another option. Keeping a small portion in a keepsake or pendant first means you can still hold on to something.

Questions people ask
How do Italy attitudes to cremation compare?
Cremation Society of Great Britain, International Cremation Statistics 2023 (2023) puts the Italy human cremation rate at about 38.16%[1]. We show it on the Naples page because pet aftercare choices tend to track it: where cremation is normal for people, communal and private pet cremation are both easy to find.
Can a provider from a neighbouring town collect from Naples?
Usually yes. Rome is about 117 miles away and Bari is about 137 miles away, all inside a normal collection radius. Get the mileage written into the quote so there is no surprise on the day.
My pet was cremated years ago. Can I still have jewelry made?
Yes. Cremated remains are stable mineral and don't change over time, so ashes from years ago work just as well. Open the urn over a sheet of paper, take a teaspoon with a clean spoon and seal the urn again. If the ashes are in a sealed container you'd rather not open, a Naples jeweler or the original crematory may help.
Do cremation pendants leak?
A well-made pendant with a sealed screw shouldn't. Leaks usually happen when the screw isn't glued and works loose with daily wear. Use the adhesive in the kit, or ask a Naples jeweler to seal it permanently. Glass and memorial diamonds have no opening at all, so they can't leak.
How long does a memorial diamond take to make?
Much longer than any other piece. One US lab quotes 7–10 months[9] from submission to delivery, a Swiss lab about 12 months[10], and across three providers the average is about 8.5 months[11]. If you want something to wear sooner, many people order a simple pendant first and add the diamond later.
How do I get a small portion out of a sealed urn in Naples?
Many urns open from the base, with screws or a sliding panel under a felt pad. Inside there's usually a plastic bag with a twist tie. Open it over a tray, lift out a spoonful with a dry teaspoon, then retie the bag and close the urn. If the urn is glued, or you'd rather not do it, the crematory that returned the ashes or a Naples jeweler can usually help.
